Outside Connections

The sites listed here are ones that I have found personally useful or interesting. They may be valuable resources to you as well. I will supplement the list as time passes.

Newer

These links were added on 2007 Nov 21 or later.

Citizendium - The Citizen's Compendium
A public-editable encyclopedia whose emphasis is on credibility and quality, not just quantity. Started in the autumn of 2006 by Larry Sanger and a team of volunteers. Contributors use their real names rather than pseudonyms, and participation by credentialed experts is respected. Examples of current articles in Citizendium are telephone newspaper and butler.

Older

The following links actually date from 2000 May 2 (the date of this page's long-time date stamp) or earlier. They are provided more for historical sake, as links I would be making now would be on other topics.

Viewable With Any Browser
Campaign for a Non-Browser Specific WWW. (This is something that I already practice with my own web-sites.)

MacCentral Online
Very frequently updated collection of Macintosh news and product announcements. Breaking news often shows up here before anywhere else.

VersionTracker Online
The #1 Source for Macintosh Updates. Has news and update information for every piece of Mac software there is, whether commercial or shareware. It also is a central location where you can get links for downloading all these updates. Very easy to use and clean.

MacWEEK.com
The web version of MacWEEK magazine. Very useful and frequently updated news and information about the newest Macintosh products and developments. Also has regular columns and features which get into more depth on current issues.

C|NET News.Com
Another useful and frequently updated news site, from all over the computing and internet world.

MacAddict Magazine
The online home of the award-winning magazine for Mac enthusiasts. Winner of the "Best Overall Magazine 1996 Computer Press Awards". Sayeth the CPA judges, "This magazine is just fun to read. Crisp writing, snappy layout, an absence of silly stuff, all solid content - you just look forward to reading it, and you can't say that about many computer magazines."
